Even though Innoplus does not offer predefined glass brick windows, they can be created with the help of niches and glass brick panels.
First, create a glass brick panel of the size of the planned window:
- Open Catalogues > Standard catalogues > Building elements > Glass brick elements.
- Drag and drop a glass brick panel from the file card on the left into the plan.
- Place the glass brick panel against the wall adjacent to the wall that will hold the window.
- Right-click on the glass brick panel and select Change sizes.
Note: There are different glass bricks in different sizes. Only complete glass bricks can be generated. This means that cut glass bricks cannot be generated and the window size has to be chosen accordingly.
Then create an area in the adjacent wall in which the glass block panel can be inserted:
- Open the Catalogues assistant tab on the right-hand side of your screen.
- Select Standard catalogues>Building elements>Wall openings/Niches and drag the item Wall opening/Niche from the file card onto the wall.
- Resize to the size of the glass brick panel in the Insert building element window.
- Ensure you set the depth to be the thickness of the wall via the Adjust parameters button.
- Set position from floor as required in the Insert building element window.
Now position the glass panel brick in the new niche by using the function Centre positioning:
In 3D view,
- Left-click on the panel, then click on Centre positioning in the Assistant box.
- Put the first setting on Object and put the second on Depth. Click on the niche to move the panel to the same position along the length of the wall.
Note: Ensure that only the niche is highlighted in red, not the whole wall. - Repeat the previous step, but put the second setting on Height. Click on the niche to move the panel to the same height as the niche.
- With the glass brick panel highlighted, switch to the 2D view.
- Click on Centre positioning and put the first setting to Object and the second on Width. Click on the wall with the niche.
This will centre the glass brick panel at the halfway point between the inside and the outside of the room.
Note: Ensure that only the wall is highlighted in red, not the circumference of the whole room.
Only the niche is visible in the 2D view now that the panel is not highlighted. Switch back to 3D view to see the completed glass brick window.
