In Innoplus, users can create a niche in internal walls using the Cut object tool, and external walls using objects from the Wall openings/Niches file card.
Creating a niche in an internal wall
In 3D view, with the internal wall in place:
- Under Catalogues > Standard catalogues > Building elements, select Model.
- In the Model file card, select the desired shape of the niche.
- Using the left mouse button, drag and drop the selected shape onto the internal wall, where the niche is to be located.
Note: Users can adjust the size of the selected shape by right-clicking and selecting Change sizes.
- Under the Build tab, select the Cut object tool:
- Move the cursor over the face of the internal wall where the cut is to be made. It will be highlighted in red.
- Left-click the internal wall. It will be highlighted in green.
- Under View > General, uncheck the box Intersect completely.
- Move the cursor over the shape which will be used as the reference for the cut. It will be highlighted in blue.
- Left-click the reference shape.
- In Depth of cut, specify the depth of the cut.
Note: The depth of cut should be less than the total thickness of the wall.
- Click OK.
- Right-click the reference shape and select Delete object.
The niche is now visible.
Creating a niche in an external wall
In 3D view:
- Under Catalogues > Standard catalogues > Building elements, select Wall openings/Niches.
- In the Wall openings/Niches file card, select the desired object.
- Using the left mouse button, drag and drop the desired object onto the external wall.
- In Insert building element, adjust the size and positioning of the object.
Note: You can also click the Adjust parameters button.
