How to add a dormer to a sloped ceiling

1. In the Assistant box, select the Catalogues tab.
   
   
2. Under the Catalogues tab, select the Standard tab.
   
   
3. Click the Building elements catalogue to expand it.
   
   
4. Double-click the Dormers file card.

Dormers that include a window will be inserted with the window set flush with the dormer cut:

To insert a dormer with a window:

1. Left-click and drag the desired dormer onto the wall with the roof slope and release to place.
   
   
2. In the Insert building element window, you can adjust the size and position of the dormer.
   
   
3. Click OK.

If you wish to insert a dormer without a window, or if the dormer will be larger than the window within it, you can insert an empty dormer:

To insert an empty dormer:

1. Left-click and drag the desired dormer onto the wall with the roof slope and release to place.
   
   
2. In the Insert building element window, you can adjust the size and position of the dormer.
   
   
3. Click OK.

To insert a window into the empty dormer:

1. Select the Windows file card, located on the left side of the screen. If the file card is not open, locate it under Catalogues > Standard > Building Elements and double-click the Windows file card. 
   
   
2. Left-click and drag the desired window into the empty dormer and release to place.
   
   
3. In the Insert building element window, adjust the size and position of the window.
   Note: You can also remove the windowsill here. 
   
   
4. Click OK.

Removing the windowsill

To remove the automatic windowsill on the inserted window:

1. Double-click on the window.
   
   
2. In the Insert building element window, click Adjust parameters.
   
   
3. In the Component parameter window, untick Window Sill.
   
   
4. Click Apply, then click OK. The Component parameter window will close.
   
   
5. In the Insert building element window, click OK.
