If a 2D .DXF file is available, it can be used to create a room/floorplan. The imported .DXF file gives you the opportunity to use existing room corner points so you don't need to calculate wall lengths and angles between the walls.
To import the template,
- Open Innoplus.
- On the main menu screen, click on Import floor plan.
- Locate the .DXF file and click on Open.
- Click on a red coloured edge (such as a wall) and enter the real dimension.
Note: This specifies a reference dimension because in the CAD drawing program DXF files can be exported in millimetres, centimetres or metres.
You can now build the required walls, using the DXF file as a template.
On the Build tab,
- Click on either Wall 2 points or Wall sequence:
- Adjust the wall settings as required, before tracing the room out.
The length of the walls is calculated automatically.
- When all required walls have been added, click Finished on the View tab assistant.
- If needed, add doors and windows using the template as a guide for placement.
When the structure of the room is complete you may want to hide the template. To do this:
On the Build tab,
- Click on Import floor plan.
- Uncheck the tick by Display template.
The template is no longer displayed in the plan.
Note: The template is still available within Innoplus. To display it again just tick the Display template box.
